  since there appears to be no eye=witness testimoney of sin or defect within the governing body of the wbts, could we be dealing with superhumans such as the bible's nephalim?

  would this not explain the powerful control this org seems to weild over common folks?.

  Let me clarify my dilemma.

  It seems to me to be either/or issue when it comes to the validity of the JW org.

  Either: The leaders behind the scene are so clever that there exist no eye-witnesss to sins that the Bible states are common amoung all humans making them demonic,

  OR

  The GB simply does not sin to the extent of the average person, making their claims of righteousness more credible.

  Would not one think that in this age of disclosure and "gotcha" mentality that someone would come forth with specific evidence of intentional fraud or duplicity at the top thus, wobbling the entire structure of the group? All we seem to have now are opinions and circumstancial evidence. Perhaps the real eye-witnesses are still under the spell of the cult even though they think they have been liberated. I can't tell ...

  To me, listening to my heart includes who and what I am and acting on what I really want to do.

  Without actions, I am not listening.

  Now ... my actions may be good, bad, healthy or unhealthy. They may beneficially or adversely affect others. I may gain advantage or pay a penalty for listening to my heart.

  Listening to my heart means accepting responsibility for the things about me i cannot alter.

  Why did you leave and did you still hold on to some beliefs for a while?

  when you left the wts did you leave over something specific?

  did you, or do you, still believe in some of the jw ideas?.

  in my own case i left over a family issue i have mentioned elsewhere.

  I left because I felt closed out from the inner workings of the organization. I was either unable or unwilling to pay the necessary dues in order to gain equality and privilege. I am not a good politician or a "yes man." I also have specific character defects which are not appreciated within the group.

  Simply stated it couldn't work for me.

  As to holding on to ideas ... people can find good ones and bad ones in all organizations if one wishs to cherrypick ... they all use ther same MO. So, I hold on to what I believe are beneficial ones.

  a recent awake article seems to okay cremation and i thought at one time the watchtower was against it.. do you have any thoughts one way or the other on the subject?.

  sorry, i just have to vent my frustration again over the fact that my fleshly, still a jw sister, treats me as if i'm dead, since i was df'ed.. i can't get over it.

  Dear Newborn:

  While I no longer preach I do think that Bible principles and accounts have practical value.

  For instance, scripture suggests that "before honor must come humiliation."

  Pharoah ateempted to kill Moses, who reportedly ended up leading the entire nation. Joseph was outed and given for dead by his family ubntil they were begging him for food during a famine. About everyone turned on Job and yet he enden up the most successful person of his time. Famously, Jesus was hunted down and slaughtered by the Jews

  What I am thinking is that what you are going thru might be in preparation for something great that you yet must do. History proves to me that the majority opinion is most often wrong1 Endure.

  From a different angle

  I have felt loneliness often during my life not from being in a jam, but rather because I ran out of bread!

  To me, the adage is true "the friends of the rich are many."

  Now JWs use as a nose hook the sharing of what they have (a form of Communism). When members leave they lose that support. Preparation for such separation has been purposely vilified by the group as an incentive not to leave.

  I have seen that when an unbeliever builds themselves up financially hardliners somehow modify their position in hopes of coattailing.

  For many, I firmly believe that being a JW is actually an occupation.

  Why do we say " I believe in evolution"?

  i hear this and read this a lot, "i don't believe in evolution" or " this person does not believe in evolution".

  when we say this we a perpetuating the myth that evolution is a belief, when in reality it is a fact.

  we should say " this person does not accept evolution as a fact".

  What GIVES JW's CONFIDENCE?

  all of us on this forum know that jw org is just another cultic group..... we all know how confident and sure they feel about their org being the only one recognised by god (jehovah).. can anyone tell us what's behind their arrogance?....holy spirit?

  ( well i know that will be their answer) i don't believe that because it can't be proven.. don't tell us it's jehovah...... what gives the gb so much power to deceive so many people?.

  sometimes i just wonder if maybe jw org is the truth, perhaps i should just swallow my pride and go to the elders and ask them to pray for me and get jehovah's forgiveness and undeserved kindness...... am i being naive or what?.

  For me, your question is a classic chicken/egg query.

  It has been my experience for over fifty years that the org doesn't convert humble individuals into arrogant nay-sayers ... rather, I believe the program ATTRACKS those for whom the idea of superiority over others amounts to a high.

  These holier-than-thou folks would have been the same if they had joined the PTA, the Lions Club, or a neighborhood civic association. The JW Org is easy pickens for wanna-bees because a cult does not care what your motive for participation is, all they require is complete allegiance to the concept. I may be a little different here but I don't blame the RANK at headquarters who are paid well to operate the cartel , as much as the FILE in the KHs, who are willing to sell out in order to obtain their fix.

  Are the Witnesses witnessing where you are?

  it occurred to me the other day that it's been forever since we've had a jw knock on our door, leave a tract or magazine, etc.

  we live in a suburb of a major u.s. city.. what about you?

  when is the last time the witnesses visited?

  Here are a few ways to get JWs to knock on your door:

  1) Sit in your car around 7AM in a shopping center parking lot. The pioneers will pound until you open a windowi in order to get their time started.

  2) Tell your neighbor to invite them in once for one Bible Study. They will return faithfully for years with a gaggle of preachers who will knock on your door when the neighbor no longert answers theirs.

  3) Lock yourself in a Panera Bread or Starbucks bathroom between 10AM and 11AM and wait for carloads to routinely show up and need to use the facilities.

  4) If you live in the country, get rid of the dogs

  5) If you live in the city, get a dog who will bark like crazy when anyone gets near tthe property
